Since the start of 2018, Rookwood School has offered a record number of extra-curricular clubs and activities. Now more than 80 clubs for pupils in the Lower School and Senior School, provide pupils with the opportunity to develop new skills, discover new passions, gain confidence, grow socially and emotionally and enjoy themselves.
From trampolining to tennis, climbing to chemistry and ski fitness to street dance there is something for everyone. New clubs introduced include the Rookwood Citizenship Scheme, and iDEA club which both have graded levels and offer pupils a recognised award upon their completion of the programme.
During the second half of the term, STEM club returns to provide pupils with the opportunity to develop their knowledge in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Yoga club offers pupils the opportunity to practice half an hour of mindfulness while learning a number of different exercise positions, which increase strength, flexibility and balance. The new clubs have added to the school’s rich programme of extracurricular activities, which include the Duke of Edinburgh Award and gardening club, Growers, which had led to the school being recognised as a 5 Star Gardening School by the RHS.
